Insulating Above Precast Concrete Floors

“…is compatible with masonry and timber framed wall constructions…”

Precast concrete units (e.g. beams, blocks and concrete planks) can be installed quickly and are convenient in places where conditions preclude a ground-bearing floor. Floor insulation should be installed on top of the bearing surface.

Compatible with timbered framed walls and masonry, this type of construction can be used with sub-floor heating embedded in a screed. Ballytherm Floor Insulation is moisture resistant and strong, and its low thermal conductivity reduces the required thickness of insulation within the floor construction.

The thickness of Ballytherm Insulation UK required to meet regulations can be ascertained from this Table 6.
