Steps:

Beneath Screed Installation Sequence

  1. First grout the slab and lay the leveling screed.
  2. Second, fit the vertical edge floor insulation.
  3. Lay Ballytherm boards across the surface of the floor in broken bond.
  4. Then lay a VCL/slip sheet over the boards. The joints should be lapped and sealed.
  5. Finally, pour the screed.

Beneath Sheet Flooring Installation Sequence

  1. First grout slab and lay the leveling screed.
  2. Second, fit timber battens at the thresholds and at any points of high loading.
  3. Lay Ballytherm boards across the surface of the floor in broken bond.
  4. Then lay a VCL/slip sheet over the boards with joints lapped and sealed.
  5. Finally, lay the sheet flooring.

Points To Watch

  • Always ensure the boards fit precisely together.
  • Use sealant to seal service penetrations.
  • Before pouring the screed, test any services.
  • While laying the screed or flooring, protect Ballytherm board from foot traffic.
  • When leveling the screed, protect any uncovered board edges.
